Babylon Attorney
The Town of Babylon is one of ten towns in Suffolk County, New York. Located on Long Island, the town population was 211,792 as of the 2000 census. It borders Nassau County to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Parts of Jones Beach Island, Captree Island and Fire Island are in the southernmost part of the town. The region was once called Huntington South. Nathaniel Conklin moved his family to the area, eventually calling it "New Babylon" in 1803, naming it after the ancient town of Babylon. The town was officially formed in 1872 by a partition of the Town of Huntington.
The Town of Babylon includes the incorporated villages of Amityville, Babylon and Lindenhurst. It also includes the unincorporated hamlets of Copiague, Deer Park, East Farmingdale, Gilgo, Oak Beach & Captree, North Amityville, North Babylon, North Lindenhurst, West Babylon, West Islip, Wheatley Heights and Wyandanch.
